"The Reverend Ezekiel Mintz organized the building of this church, aided by locals Myron Whipple, who served as the chief carpenter, and Pierce Watson. On May 3, 1869, the church was formally incorporated as the Herrickville Community Church and was a member of the former Syracuse conference with Reverend Mintz as the leader. In 1898, the church became the Herrickville Wesleyan Church and Reverend A.A. Babcock was installed as the Pastor."
